Greetings from the Editor:
Self-Compassion
Last winter I took an enlightening workshop at The Jung Educational Center in Houston. The topic revisited one of my lifelong studies, to build self-esteem and to love myself. Some of the information presented was from a Buddhist perspective and may be helpful for you to use. One idea discussed was to practice mindfulness. It seems that many of us, if not all, are hard on ourselves and are self-critical. Practice bringing your attention, as often as possible, to the present moment; notice what is going on for you.
For example, are you practicing loving kindness towards yourself or are you being self-critical? Decide to stop judging yourself when you are lacking in self-compassion. Making this new choice moment to moment begins changing the pattern. Your awareness will grow over time and it will become easier to shift to a healthier place of self-acceptance and kindness. Consider practicing self-compassion, starting now.
Fortunate Blessings,
Suzanne

Each cycle has its pluses and minuses and we can look at each with a positive or negative spin...
