Thankful

I celebrate today, giving thanks for all that I have, my relationships, and who I have grown to be. I am grateful to live a full, creative, abundant life, I feel blessed and take the time to list all the things for which I am thankful: the specific experiences and people that have enriched my life. I express my gratitude to several people today. I am thankful for my life and feel my gratitude often.

Greetings from the Editor:

Pondering What Pleases

When I look within at my inner journey, one thing still amazes me. It is that I learned to be a good writer. I received a significant jolt as a college freshman that went deep into my psyche and took a while to heal. It was getting a D in Freshman English literature; we were to write one essay after another about the literature we were reading. Lucky for me, I had a completely different experience with a different teacher when I repeated the course, getting an A. The key was the second teacher had us write about topics that interested us. As time passed, I overcame the serious block to my self-image. I am so grateful that I can easily express my ideas, observations and experiences that have a theme of inner healing, growth, and deepening connection to the Divine. It gives me great joy that others have benefitted by my writings as well.

Take a moment to pause; review your life and acknowledge the positive growth you have made to overcome an inner block or misperceptions about yourself.

Fortunate Blessings,

Suzanne

Living in a Conscious, Long-Term Relationship

By Suzanne E. Harrill

Are you in a long-term relationship or wish you were? What makes a couple stay together a lifetime? Are there secrets that others can learn about making a long-term commitment? There are some things I’ve learned over time through my own experience of living with my husband for 47 years. For one, it is possible to begin a traditional, unaware relationship and go through a process of transformation to change it into an aware, fulfilling relationship. I will share a few concepts that changed my life that may help you lay the groundwork for a successful relationship. My journey has been a combination of both inner and outer work...

Personal Growth

The Latitude of Gratitude

By Maura Burgess

I think many of us defer our gratitude, thinking that thankfulness and acceptance of who we are will come when we are in a different physical location; perhaps on a beach or a mountaintop. There are many “traps” in focusing on anywhere, but where we currently are located.  It is very fun to escape the “ordinary” life for a bit, in retreat or vacationing.  However, the kicker is that our beliefs and attitudes follow us wherever we choose to go...

Living in Gratitude

By Rev Edee Charlton

Gratitude is one of those magic connections in life.  When you are truly grateful to or for someone or something it creates an energy in your attitude that looks at the wonders of life.  Within the gratitude is an awareness of the blessings that are present. Can you image bringing to mind each person who has touched your life and thanking them for the blessings they have bestowed upon you...

Gratitude for All Life

By Georgia Woodworth RScP

Walking through the nature reserve close to my home, I am stunned by how the river bed is altered.  The storms of October leave a definable mark of mayhem by destroying a mile of trail and ripping utility poles nowhere near the river from their moorings.  Most of the grasses and plant life list hard to the south. There are now two streams of swift, cold water where prior there was but one.  The grasses for the most part are still green in spite of several hard freezes.  The willows have not yet given up all of their foliage.  Grasshoppers abound, flitting about, harvesting for this moment only.   Hidden birds call out secret messages to one another.  Squirrels are busy in the canopies of the barren cottonwoods.  Life is large under this crayola blue sky...

Simply Becoming More Loving

by Gary Bates

How can we become more loving and experience what we truly are absent of the emotional fog that separates us from what we truly are? Emotions rule the day until the wild dog is tamed. We need a method that will elevate our consciousness just prior to everything that we say and do, a way of moving ourselves out of conscious awareness into super-consciousness. The method works but we only get to hold the higher energy if we use it all the time...

The Spiritual Power of Prayer & Meditation

By Rose Salcetti

For eons, people have sought physical and emotional healing and spiritual renewal through their engagement in prayer..Writer Rose Salcetti immerses herself in it. Dr. Greg Braden  explains. “Today, modern prayer researchers have identified four broad categories that are believed to encompass all the many ways that we pray. In no particular order, they are: (1) colloquial, or informal, prayers; (2) petitionary prayers; (3) ritualistic prayers; and (4) meditative prayers. When we pray, the researchers suggest that we use one of these four modes—or a combination...
