Poetry
Poem by photographer Selia Qynn
I am from green leaves and an all-consuming urge to eat.
I am from an inward spin into deep sleep, and dreams of transformation.
I am from glimpsing another world through the eyes of stirring slumber.
I am from the empty husk of yesterday.
I am from a cellular re-invention of self.
I am from far-flung migratory winds.
I am from trust.
I am from steady places of abundance.
I am from trap doors to freedom.
I am from the leap of faith, building wings on the way down.
I am from the event horizon between realities.
I am from using new tools in an old world.
I am from seeing the familiar with new eyes.
I am from the hard-wired wisdom of dna.
I AM MONARCH
