In
Revelations 3:20, we read: I stand at the door and
knock; if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come
in to him, and I will sup with him, and he with me.
The
door is that which stands between the third and fourth
dimensions, between humanhood and Selfhood. Variations of this
passage are said to be found in Egyptian and Greek writings in
a particular reference to a "Heart-Gate" which when
opened, releases the powers of heaven. This is considered the
most important step in reclaiming "that which was in the
beginning.”
The
voice is our Divine Conscious- ness, the Holy I, the
universal Spirit of God. The knock is that repeated tapping on
the heart, those intuitive flashpoints in our feeling nature
reminding us that life is so much more than we have perceived
it to be. The gentle voice says, "If you will open the
door I will live your life for you, a life without sorrow,
sickness or scarcity. It is you who closed the door;
only you can open it."
Millions
of Truth seekers have reached into the depths of consciousness
and opened that mystical door to receive the very Presence of
God. Remember? Maybe it wasn't a conscious action on our part,
some- thing we had planned as a way if accessing the Divine.
It could have been the result of an inner hunger for something
greater than ourselves and the fruitage of years of spiritual
studies and contemplative meditation. Regardless, the time was
right.
Recall
the experience. The Shining was so intense, the inflow so
powerful that for a moment we wondered if the personality
would survive. It could have been the letting go of the end of
the rope and falling into the waves of unconditional love with
undercurrents of radiant joy flowing through us. Perhaps it
was less dramatic ...a voice in the night, a new vision, a
touch, an inspiration. Whatever the experience, we knew that
this was the beginning of a whole new life with Spirit in
charge.
But
after a time--for some of us--the old ways of the old days
began to settle back in, and we found ourselves in the
mirage-filled desert again. Perhaps it wasn't as bleak as
before--there were blessings to count--but all was not a
heaven-on-earth appearance. Some have described this as a
return to the bumpy road of life. Others referred to it as a
period of blandness, or emptiness, and still others thought of
it as "the same old spiral of life, the days all blended
together.”
So
where did we fall short? Let us count the ways.
1.
By hearing the knock and opening the door, we were
flooded with the Cosmic Energies of the One Presence and
Power. But instead of letting the experience become a Divine
Love Connection with Spirit leading to the Mystical Marriage,
we began to focus our attention on how we could fulfill
our needs and satisfy our wants. After all, we now had the
power.
2.
With the gaining of power, we thought we also had the
wisdom and creative intelligence to give our lives a complete
makeover, and we began to take charge. How exciting. The only
problem was that the ego-mind didn't/doesn't have an ounce of
wisdom, much less the intelligence to make things happen in a
heavenly way. It can only screw things up royally. And that's
why thousands of pages of Ancient Wisdom have been devoted to WHO
does the work, WHO has the wisdom and intelligence,
and WHO has the vision and power to make all things new.
3.
But we
forged ahead, focusing now--perhaps unconsciously--on all the
people who could help us make our dreams come true. A little
manipulation can't be all bad if the intent is spiritual.
Right? What we forgot here is that "people" are only
to be loved for Who they are, not unduly influenced to
personally serve us. The Truth is, there are not billions of
individual Spirits, one for each person. There is one Spirit,
universal, infinite, omnipresent. My Spirit is your
Spirit--one and the same--and to love you is to love myself.
To love myself is to love everyone without exception.
How
do we get back into the rhythm of the Ideal Life, one of more
abundant wholeness, prosperity, self-expression and
relationships? How about beginning anew, starting over,
this time with a total commitment to living the true
spiritual life. That's the only way we're going to find real
peace, joy, and fulfillment.
It
is in this regard that I'm continually amazed that so many
books from "New Age" publishers beat a fast retreat
from what is considered spiritual. "God" is
simply not a hip thing in so-called modern metaphysics.
Psychological games are big now. Finding and analyzing a
problem to find a solution is more important than finding God
who is the solution. Sometimes the side-shows are more
appealing than the Main Event. From my perspective, we'll
never cross the river into the Promised Land if God-as-Self is
minimized in the Now process of life.
With
total commitment, let's open that door again. In a
meditative state move to that place in consciousness where
"human" nature ends and Divine Selfhood stands. With
purpose of mind and love in your heart, open the door and feel
the rush of Spirit, the allness of God's love filling you.
Fix
your gaze on this Love-Light. Give yourself to it, and
return the love with every particle of your being. Love from,
love to, waves of love from above, waves of love from below.
Glory in the Light of Love, then radiate that Love to everyone
within your range of consciousness--and then beyond, out into
the universe to encompass all forms of life.
Let
Spirit speak the word for you. "And God said, Let
there be light." God spoke the word and continues to
do so at every moment through time and space. And the
marvelous thing about this is that the universal Spirit of
God, omnipresent, speaks the word for each one of us individually.
For you, for me, there is a continuous Let there be, a
calling forth of a specific manifest form or experience for
life more abundantly--much more than we could possible
imagine!
Overcome
the habit of interrupting Spirit. The word comes forth, Let
there ... and we interrupt by asking for that which was
already moving into manifestation. This disrupts the process
by throwing a wrench of need into the wheels of divine
expression. No wonder we were given the instruction to Be
still, and know that I am God. Be still! To be still means
to be at rest, quiet, noise- less. It is the purpose-will of
Spirit to give us everything for a most magnificent life, and
that includes not only restoring all that has been lost
through miscreation but all that signifies splendid
fulfillment in every area and activity of life. Nothing is
too good to be true when Spirit has Its way with us.
Keep
your awareness on the Holy I that you are. This keeps the
channel open for the flow through you, the flow of creative
energy that appears as the fulfillment of every need, the
solution to every problem.
Stay
in the flow. See/feel that magnificent out-pouring of
universal power going before you in waves of divine creation.
It is here that you can BE without hesitation because I
is being it through you. I am being wholeness. ..I
am being abundance. Speak this Truth in cooperation with
Spirit.
Lift
up your vision. With controlled visualization, see only
completeness in life, a life of freedom, peace and joy. Don't
focus on "things". ..see and feel everything in
absolute divine order without any imaging of the how or way it
is to come about. Spirit says, I am the way! Leave all
to the indwelling Genius.
Don't
be impatient. That lengthens the time frame. Trust the
Divine Process.
Follow
the inner guidance. Look to your heart and affirm you are
on Spirit's guided Path of Light and that your Holiness is
making every decision for you.
Smile
every time the ego tries to whisper in your ear about a need
or problem. Remind the little fellow that the one Presence
and Power in this universe is now in charge, and you are
content to watch the continuing unfoldment of wonders and
miracles in your life.
Keep
reminding yourself that this is a total commitment. As
Emerson put it, "This energy does not descend into
individual life on any other condition than entire possession.”
Let
it be done...without interruption.

Quartus Foundation in 1981. The
Word "Quartus" denotes the four-square aspect of
each individual: Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, and Physical.
The foundation is a research and communications organization
with the stated purpose of probing the mysteries of Ageless
Wisdom and integrating those interminable truths with
spiritual metaphysics. By combining the dynamics of mind with
the unlimited potential of universal laws, the ancient
principle of energy follows thought is confirmed. With this
understanding as a key, a door opens to a new philosophy of
life that is both practical and rewarding.
