Greetings from the
Editor:
Thank you List
It is Thanksgiving time, but you don't have
to live in the United States to focus on all the good in your
life. Consider making a list of all the things you celebrate
in your life.
Here are a few of mine:
-
I appreciate the close relationship I
have with my husband and with each of my three daughters.
-
I love being a grandmother and spending
time with the new souls in the family, Joshua and
Samantha, is a joy.
-
I am grateful to be on the self-healing
journey with my sister, whom I share with on a regular
basis. I have to thank my cell phone for this.
-
I appreciate my close friends, the
long-term ones, as well as the ones ready to enter my new
life in Colorado. My dog, Dot is the best!
-
As I write this, so much gratitude is
surfacing. I am grateful for this creativity.
-
And I must acknowledge the life lessons
that bring continuous expansion of consciousness to me.
-
Finally, I am grateful for a life to
explore my inner self, to heal and grow, and use my gifts
to extend myself to help others.
What are some of the things about which you
are thankful?
Fortunate blessings,
Suzanne

Many of us easily get upset
and disappointed during the holidays. As we approach the
holiday season, our wishes, hopes, and dreams surface. Our
hopes to experience joy, peace, love, and fulfillment get
intensified. The images we see on T.V. or in magazines show
happy people, experiencing only good things. This can cause us
to have unrealistic expectations. Besides this, many of us
live away from our roots, our family and close friends are not
available and we feel detached and missing those warm feelings
of connectedness...

Question: What do you know about
depression? Since my daughter's breakdown, we have been
through the most horrific time! I hope the worst is over; but
I'm not at all sure, as she spoke to me this morning about
"ending it all." Can you imagine how afraid I am
when she speaks of the possibility of suicide?...my sweet
beloved daughter! I know I would be coming from a place of
fear then, but I feel I couldn't handle it if she dies/died
like that!! Have you had much experience with depression?

Recently I was reading about how people are
suffering in the Congo; how girls struggle to be educated in
China; how a huge number of people in the world live without
safe sanitation, and on and on and on. It seems endless! There
is war, hunger, corruption, greed, and incomprehensible pain on
our planet. How can I allow myself to feel anything positive
when so many people are suffering? But the right question to ask
is, "how can I allow myself to NOT feel positive and joyful
when so many people are suffering?!"

Interviewed by Greg Bolton
Imagine doing regressive therapy with a baby.
Then imagine your experience as a child, adolescent, and adult
if you had had an opportunity to receive therapy as an infant.
For the past 20 years, Dr. William Emerson has been doing primal
therapy using regressive techniques with infants who exhibit
behavioral, emotional, or physical symptoms of prenatal,
perinatal, or post-birth trauma.
Many types of birth trauma occur in our
culture. While it has not always been clear how these traumas
affect infant behavior and health, we now have evidence that
many disorders, including behavioral disorders (sleeping
difficulties, eating problems, hyperactivity, moodiness, and
irritability), emotional disorders (excessive crying, lethargy,
withdrawal, anger, anxiety, and fear), and physical conditions
arise from early life experiences. Dr. Emerson spoke recently
with Greg Bolton, the INDEPTH Newsletter editor, about the work
he does...

The "Dao" (or "Tao") of
something is the natural way of it…its true nature. The Dao of
life consists of ebbs and flows, like the yin and yang symbol.
Within the dark is the seed of light. Within the light is the
seed of dark. And in the ever-flowing beautiful relationship
between opposites we find our reality. In this philosophy it is
up to us to find the natural way of things. And once we find it
we can live a life of contentment and, paradoxically, high
effectiveness...
