Q & A Interview

Summer 2012

Birthday

"Today is my special day. I joyfully celebrate my birthday and being another year wiser. I thank my parents for providing this opportunity to live my life. As I look in the mirror, I say kind things to myself like: “I love you. I’m taking good care of your today and everyday, I am so happy to be alive.

"I celebrate my day.” (substitute this on your birthday.)

Greetings from the Editor:

Happy Birthday Celebration Bash

I love birthdays. It excites me to have a birthday no matter what age I turn. One of my favorite birthdays was when I turned 5 years old. My mother had many little presents wrapped up and brought about 20 presents to me, one at a time out of a closet. It was in heaven to a five year old, even though many were very inexpensive things like hair barrettes. The fact that they were wrapped up made a difference in my excitement.

Would you believe I am turning 65? Me? I remember myself at many different ages, and not one of them being a senior citizen. Oh well, the gift of Life is aging and being equal to everyone else. My life, like everyone else’s,  is finite and I am passing a milestone in turning 65 in September.

For my Birthday Celebration you may receive a free book. I am offering free books to all my readers. One catch. You have to pay the postage, nothing more. See below for the books that are offered and where to send the postage.

Fortunate Blessings,

Suzanne

Different Paths to Wholeness:
Relationship, Illness, and Addiction

By Suzanne E. Harrill

Have you heard the ancient statement, All Roads Lead to Rome? It can also be said that all paths lead to wholeness and finding your true Self (spiritual essence, child of God, an expression of Life, etc.). Some paths are shorter than others, however. All of us experience ups and downs in our lives as part of the human experience, and it is common to get caught paying too much attention to the lows. One long path to wholeness is to use challenges to justify being unhappy, feeling out of control, and powerless. A shorter path is to step into the fire and meet head-on the experiences causing us pain and suffering; it moves us to a more expanded place of wisdom and inner peace. In short, avoiding or denying our lessons is a very long unpleasant journey, whereas, facing them moves us to a better place. How do we discover a "shortcut to Rome?"

Whatever Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger

By Nancy Moonstarr

It is a fact that our parents condition us and we take habits, attitudes, beliefs and patterns with us as we grow through all stages of life. Healing ourselves of the negative influences can take a lifetime. I will share my recent process of inner healing that it may encourage you to find the courage to deepen your relationship with the beautiful person inside of you.

Personal Growth

Internal Limits and External Boundaries
to Manage the Disease of Addiction

by Vicky Jeter

Recently, during a conference call discussion that my husband and I had on the phone, one of the participants posed a question about the Penn State sexual abuse scandal last November.  It seemed to her that there isn't any "right" or "wrong" anymore.  She asked me what I thought about it.  While it may seem obvious that there are moral absolutes with regard to what a person and/or a society would know are wrong, such as unprovoked malicious injury or violation of another person or their life space, there is a more pertinent question. If there are moral absolutes, how do we go about bringing them to high functioning as active guides for behavior in relationships?
